Army Bread Boxes

My Army style bread, ammo and gulf canning boxes are as strong as they are period authentic. Choose your style, markings, and even size (on custom orders.)

Basic Construction: Dove-tail constructed with continuous hinges (backed-up with 1" Crown Staples to prevent breakage), and very secure handles. The box is screwed and glued; square-cut nails are used for authenticity; glue is high-quality. Though the container is not waterproof, it will resist normal dampness. The Handles are the only thing not glued on: they are mounted from the inside with screws (in the event that the rope handle should break or come apart, the handle can be removed for repair.) The handles are cut with finger grooves--in the event of a rope breakage, one can still carry the container until repairs are made. The finish is either painted with an exterior paint or stained with oil base stain. The stencils are applied after painting/staining. All stencils are hand cut.
